TORCHWOOD star John Barrowman returned to his starring role in Robin Hood today after falling ill.
Barrowman, best known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness, missed yesterday evening’s performance of the hit pantomime at Cardiff’s New Theatre.
A spokeswoman told WalesOnline Barrowman, 42, who lives in Sully, had been suffering from a chest infection but returned to the stage for today's matinee show.
The all-rounder’s star turn has broken box office records, with fans from as far afield as America and Australia snapping up some of the 55,000 tickets.
The 73-show run has already raked in around £1m, providing an important financial boost to Cardiff Council, which subsides the New Theatre.
The show runs until January 24.

I have tickets for this evening. I'm so pumped! My reaction to seeing this pop up on Twitter is actually a little embarassing, but it is great news!
